Profile
Profiles help you manage the Internet activities of the devices connected to your network. You can set what time and how many hours a day profiles are allowed to access the Internet and determine what websites to block or allow.
User Profile and Network Profile
A User Profile is a self-defined profile created for a specific user to which you can assign devices for management. The former manages devices connected to your local network while the latter governs those connected to your guest Wi-Fi.
To create a User Profile:
- Go to Profile and click the plus icon.
- Click Start.
- Select User Profile and click Next.
- Enter a name and upload a photo.
- Select the devices you wish to assign to this profile and click Create. If you cannot find your devices, please make sure they are connected to your Synology Router and have not been assigned to another profile.
- Click OK to complete the setup.
Note:

- The maximum number of devices linked to each user profile is limited to 100.

- Click the arrow icon to see the data of Today and Yesterday.
Note:
- When a device is removed from a user profile, the accumulated amount of time which the device spent online will not be subtracted from the profile’s total amount of time.
- When a device is added to a user profile, the accumulated amount of time which the device spent online in the previous profile will not be added to that of the current profile.

- The maximum number of custom web filters is limited to 12.
- The allow list will be given higher priority over the block list.
- The maximum number of allow lists and block lists are limited to 200.
- In some cases, it may seem that you can still access web pages of a website that you have blocked. For example, after adding "www.amazon.com" to the block list of a web filter and applying it to a profile, you find that you can still access Amazon’s web pages. The reason for this may be that these web pages are not served under "www.amazon.com" but under another domain name, such as "abc.amazon.com". To avoid this type of situation, simply add amazon.com to your block list without the initial "www".
