Enable traffic control

If you wish to monitor the traffic of connected devices, click Settings and tick Enable traffic control.

To set up the maximum Internet bandwidths:

  1. Go to the Advanced tab and click Settings.
  2. Under the Internet Bandwidth section, enter the following information on the maximum bandwidths:

    • Internet download bandwidth
  3. Click OK to save the settings.

Note:

  • For detailed information on the upload/download bandwidth of your Internet service, please contact your ISP (Internet service provider).
  • It takes time for traffic control to become fully effective. Please use the traffic viewer on client devices to get the most up-to-date live traffic information.
  • The Internet upload/download bandwidth should be between 0 and 4,294,967 KB/s.

To set up default policies:

You can set up default policies, applicable for conditions that are not regulated in customized traffic control rules.

Create traffic control rules

You can not only create traffic control rules for connected devices, but also set the bandwidth allowed for applications running on each device at the Advanced tab.

Note:

  • Because of the UDP (User Datagram Protocol) limitations, the actual guaranteed bandwidth and maximum bandwidths of devices or applications using UDP might be smaller than the bandwidths you have configured.

To create a device traffic control rule:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Enter the name and MAC address of your device.
  3. Specify the upload and download speed for the device.

To create an application traffic control rule:
