Manage Camera Group Settings

When managing many cameras in Surveillance Station, you can organize cameras into camera groups for easier management, create camera layouts, and apply user privileges to camera groups.

To create a camera group:

  1. Launch Camera Group.
  2. Click + to add a new group.
  3. Enter a group name in Name. You can also enter a camera group summary in Description.
  4. Select the camera you wish to add to the group and click on the right-arrow button.
  5. Click Save to save your changes.

To create and view camera layouts in Live View and Timeline:

  1. Go to Live View or Timeline and click Management under Layout to open the layout management window.
  2. Click + to add a new camera layout.
  3. Enter a layout name in Name. You may also set the layout as default and fix the video aspect ratio by checking the corresponding boxes.
  4. Select a layout pattern.
  5. Drag and drop a camera from the left panel to an open channel in the layout grid on the right. You may also click Customize to tailor the layout grid to your needs.
  6. Click Preview to check the layout.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
  8. Select a timeline or live liew layout from the drop-down menu under Layout to view it.

To apply user privileges to a camera group:

  1. Go to User and open the Privilege Profile tab.
  2. Click the + or - button to add or remove privilege profiles.
  3. Find your camera groups in the Camera list.
  4. Check the box of any camera group to include it in this privilege profile, and then click Save.
  5. Go to User > List. Select users and apply the privilege profile you have just created.
