QuickConnect allows you to access Synology device via web browsers and client applications without using its IP address. This article will introduce which packages and services support QuickConnect.

The following services and applications do not support QuickConnect:

  • All third-party services and applications
  • Services that require information about service IP addresses or domain names:
    • Mapping Synology device to a Windows network drive or Mac Finder
    • Accessing files on Synology device via SMB, AFP, FTP, NFS, or WebDAV
    • Backing up files on your Synology NAS to a remote Synology NAS
    • Connecting to Synology NAS (as a VPN server) using a VPN client
    • Connecting to an iSCSI target on Synology NAS via an iSCSI client
    • Web services that implemented on the Web Station

  1. Those that are not displayed on the list are currently not supported.
  2. DSM 4.3 and below do not support web portal services.
