Assign devices to users and groups

You can grant users access to devices managed by C2 Identity via the following methods.

Assign devices to a single user

Go to the C2 Identity admin portal > User.
Click on a username.
Go to the Device tab. Click the + icon in the upper-right corner.
Select the devices you want to assign to the user. You can also select a privilege type from the Privileges drop-down menu for each device.
Click OK.

Assign devices to a single group

Groups save your time spent on managing user privileges. When you assign devices to a group, all group members share the same privileges to access the devices.

Go to the C2 Identity admin portal > Group.
Click on a group name.
Go to the Device tab. Click the + icon in the upper-right corner.
Select the devices you want to assign to the group. You can also select a privilege type from the Privileges drop-down menu for each device.
Click OK. All the group members will inherit the assigned privileges.

Assign a single device to users and groups

Go to the C2 Identity admin portal > Managed Device.
Click on a device name.
Go to the Privileges tab.
Click the + icon in the upper-right corner. Then, click Add user or Add group.
Select the users/groups you want to assign to the device. You can also select a privilege type from the Privileges drop-down menu for each user/group.
Click OK.

Notes:

Privileges that are specifically granted to a user take priority over those granted to their groups. For example, the user "ken" is a member of the group "sales." If "sales" is bound to a device as an admin and "ken" is bound as a general user, "ken" will be the device's general user.
If a user's privileges inherited from groups have conflicts, the priority is as follows: Admin > Admin (password required sudo) > General user.
If a user's access privileges to a device are revoked, their local account on that device will be retained but disabled.
