Share and Search

This section guides you through how to share and search your photos, videos, and albums.

Share

To share photos and videos:

1. Select the photos and videos you want to share.
2. Click the Share icon on the upper right corner. The selected items will be created into a shared album, with the album creation date serving as the album name by default.
3. Enable the share link and edit the sharing options and privacy settings:
   • Advanced sharing options:
     • Allow downloads: Selecting this option will allow others to download the shared items in their original quality and further share them via Moments mobile applications.
   • Privacy settings:
     • Public: Everyone with the share link can access the shared album.
     • Specific users: Only the assigned users can access the shared album (users can be added as specific users even after the shared link is created).
4. Click Done to finish. The shared items can be further managed in Shared > Shared with others.

To share albums:

1. Go to the album you want to share.
2. Click the Share icon on the upper right corner.
3. Enable the share link and edit the sharing options and privacy settings:
   • Advanced sharing options:
     • Allow downloads: Selecting this option will allow others to download the shared items in their original quality and further share them via Moments mobile applications.
   • Privacy settings:
     • Public: Everyone with the share link can access the shared album.
     • Specific users: Only the assigned users can access the shared album (users can be added as specific users even after the shared link is created).
4. Click Done to finish. The shared album can be further managed in Shared > Shared with others.

To view the albums shared with me:

• Go to the Albums tab > Shared > select Shared with me in the dropdown menu to view all the albums shared with me by other users. Albums are listed according to the date shared.

To manage the albums shared with others:

• Go to the Albums tab > Shared > select Shared with others in the dropdown menu.
• In the Shared with others page, you can view the album name, sharing status, quantity of the shared items, and the last modified time. The order of the albums is listed based on the last edit time of the sharing option.
• You can click the More icon on the right of each shared album to copy or edit the sharing link, or stop sharing the album.

Enable Shared Photo Library

Shared Photo Library allows you and users with permissions to collaboratively edit the photos and albums in Synology Moments. Please note that only users belonging to the administrative groups can enable this feature.

To enable Shared Photo Library:

1. Click the Account icon on the bottom-left corner and select Settings > Shared Photo Library > Enable Shared Photo Library.
2. Click Next to confirm and enable Shared Photo Library.
3. Select users to grant them the permissions to access Shared Photo Library.
4. Click OK to finish. Now you can switch between My Photo Library and Shared Photo Library.

To copy photos to Shared Photo Library:

1. Select the photos and videos you want to copy to Shared Photo Library.
2. Click the More icon and select Copy to Shared Photo Library. The selected items will then be copied to the folder named /photo/Moments/_username_.

Search

The search box allows you to search any specific photos, videos, and albums.

To search with keywords:

• Enter the keywords in the search box on the upper right corner.
• Press the Enter key on the keyboard to perform keyword search or select from the previous search history and search suggestions. Search suggestions include the results that match people's names, subjects and their synonyms, tags, and album names.

To perform advanced search:

• Click the downward arrow icon on the search bar to open the advanced search panel.
• Set the advanced search criteria such as file type, tag, and date, and then press the Search button.

To clear the search history:

• Click Clear to clear the recent keyword search history.

To view the photos taken on the same day:

• In the search results page, click the downward arrow next to a date to view all the other photos and videos taken on the same day.
• Click the upward arrow to display only the filtered results.
