Photo Station

Photo Station is an online photo album for you to easily share photos and videos over the Internet. With Photo Station, you can upload, organize, edit, and share your photos quickly and easily.

Photo Station consists of three parts:

  • Left: Provides navigation links to access albums, Photo Station settings, and a page dedicated to yourself. You can also create categories to organize your albums. The search function is readily available here as well.
  • Main: Displays Photo Station content. You can select multiple items and perform basic actions such as downloading, moving, deleting, and sharing.
  • Top: The action bar provides options to manage the page you are currently browsing. You can upload, download, share, and edit items, configure album settings, and switch views.

To connect to Photo Station via mobile devices, you can download DS photo on your mobile devices to manage the photos in Photo Station. For more information, please refer to DS photo Help.

Photo Station Security:

  • To prevent certain types of attacks from malicious websites, you can go to Settings > General and tick Do not allow Photo Station to be embedded with iFrame to restrict other websites from embedding Photo Station into other web pages with iFrame. You can specify certain websites to be allowed to embed Photo Station with iFrame by clicking Allowed websites.

Support and Limitations:

  • Supported image formats: BMP, JPEG, GIF, RAW (arw, srf, sr2, dcr, k25, kdc, cr2, crw, nef, mrw, ptx, pef, raf, raw, 3fr, erf, mef, mos, orf, rw2, dng, x3f), TIFF, PNG
  • Supported video formats: 3G2, 3GP, ASF, AVI, DAT, DivX, FLV, M4V, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MTS, M2TS, M2T QT, WMV, XviD, RM1, RMVB1, VOB1
    Note (1): Users can download files of the specified formats, but cannot play them in Photo Station as a compressed Flash video.
  • Browser requirement: JavaScript enabled
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer requirement: ActiveX controls and plug-ins and Active scripting enabled
  • Upload limit: For Synology NAS models with 64-bit processors and running on DSM 6.0 or above, the size of each file to be uploaded should be 32 GB or less. For other models, the maximum upload size per file is 2 GB.
