Counting

For Synology Camera firmware version 1.2.0 or above, access the Counting feature to select 2 types of tasks with real-time entry, exit, and occupancy counts. Each Synology Camera supports up to 3 line crossing tasks and 3 area counting tasks.
By analyzing these values, you can evaluate traffic flow to gain actionable insights on pathway efficiency and occupancy management.

Default camera placement

  • FC600: cameras should be placed using a top-bottom angle. Wall-mount setup is not supported.
  • All other Synology Camera: Cameras should be placed using a tilted camera angle. If you’d like to use a top-down angle, enable the counting function on DVA series devices.
