Advanced

In Recording > Advanced, you can export recordings as archives, mount recording archives to Surveillance Station, and configure index and format settings.

Export

Export recordings to a shared folder or external storage via USB or eSATA interface. By specifying the camera and time range, recordings will be exported as an archive.

Note:

  • The recordings of deleted cameras cannot be exported.

To export an archive:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Name the archive in the Archive field.
  3. Select the Source server, Destination server, and Destination folder, then click Next.
  4. Select cameras and click Next.
  5. Specify the date and time range of the recordings, and click Finish.

Note:

  • Archive name:
    • The archive name is case sensitive and can contain 1 to 32 Unicode characters, excluding the following symbols: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) = + [ ] { } \ | / ; : ' " < > ?
    • The first character cannot be a minus sign (-) or a space; the last character cannot be a space.

To delete an archive:

Select archives, click Delete, and select an option.

Mount

Mount exported archives onto Surveillance Station. The recordings in mounted archives can be played in Recording and Monitor Center.

To mount an archive:

  1. Click Add.
  2. If your server is a CMS host, select a server from the Source drop-down menu.
  3. Select a folder from the Shared folder drop-down menu. The folder can be any shared folder or an external storage device connected via USB or eSATA interface.
  4. Select archives.
  5. Click OK.

Note:

  • The same archive cannot be mounted twice.

To delete a mounted archive:

Select archives and click Delete. This action will only remove the archive from the list. The original recording files and the exported archives will not be deleted.

To enable/disable mounted archives:

Select archives and click Enable > Enable/Disable.

To view recordings of a mounted archive:

  1. Click Browse Recordings.
  2. Select an archive from the Mount drop-down menu.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Go to Recording > Recording Files to view the recordings.

Recording File

To sync the recordings in File Station and Surveillance Station:

  • Click Start Now to run a re-index. The progress status will appear.
  • Click Stop to stop the task immediately.

To set the recording download format:

From File format, select .avi or .mp4 and click Apply.
