Layout Display & Controls
Monitor Center provides a series of status icons and control buttons that help you easily monitor camera feeds and recordings.
View Live Footage
To adjust the current layout:
Click on the buttons at the upper-right corner of the layout window:
- Stream profile: Change the stream profile.
- Fixed aspect ratio: Enable or disable fixed aspect ratio.
- Camera info: Show or hide the camera information window.
- Channel toolbar: Show or hide the toolbar.
- Full screen: Open Monitor Center in full screen.
The settings will be applied to all the channels in the layout.
To operate the OSD buttons:
Hover your mouse over each channel and click on the appearing buttons:
- Instant Search: Click
. Drag your mouse across the grid to specify a search area, click

, or
from the right panel to find people, vehicles, or motion, and click
to specify the time range.
- Auto Tracking: Click
to automatically track people in real-time.
- Volume: Adjust the volume.
- Hold to talk: Press and hold to speak in the microphone.
- Audio Pattern: Select and play an audio pattern. Click
to open the Audio Pattern settings.
- Show PTZ panel: Open the PTZ panel. Click
to open the PTZ Control settings.
- Patrol: Select a path and start the camera patrol.
- Preset point: Move the camera view to the selected preset point.
- PTZ control: Click to enable or disable PTZ control.
- Absolute position: Click anywhere on the channel to center the view.
- Home position: Return to the Home position.
- Auto pan: Turn the camera horizontally.
- Auto object tracking: Automatically follow the moving object within the view.
- Optical zoom in/out: Physically zoom in or out the camera lens.
- Transactions: Show transaction data.
- Snapshot: Take a snapshot of the camera.
- Manual recording: Start a manual recording clip.
- Drag and zoom: Click-and-drag on the video to digitally zoom in on the selected area. You can scroll the mouse wheel to further zoom in or out.
- Digital Output: Trigger digital output.
- Focus: Adjust the focus.
- Iris: Adjust the iris.
- LED: Turn on or off the LED light.
- Wiper: Turn on or off the wiper or use the speed dry function.
To view the alert status:
: You have enabled live alerts in the Alert Panel.
Operate Timeline
The timeline allows you to quickly find past recordings. You can scroll your mouse wheel to increase or decrease the time span. Different colors represent different recording types:
: No recordings.
: Continuous recording.
: Event recording.
: Bookmarked recording.
To use the timeline tools:
- Sync: Play all channels simultaneously or each channel separately.
- LIVE: Jump back to live viewing.
- Zoom in/out timeline: Control the time scale.
- Event filter: Select event types to show on the timeline.
- Calendar: Set a date and time to jump to.
- Download recordings: Download a recording of the specified time range.
- Bookmark: Bookmark a recording of the specified time range.
To use the playback controls:

to play or
to pause the playback.
- While playing, click

to play backward or forward.
- While playing, click
or
to rewind or fast forward 10 seconds.
- While playing, click

to jump to the previous or next event.
- While paused, click
or
to jump to the previous or next second.
- Click

to slow down or speed up.
Monitor with the Maps Channel
To include maps in a layout:
- Drag Maps from the Devices & Tools panel to the current layout. You can add multiple map channels.
- Select maps and map groups. You can only view and track alerts for selected items.
- Click OK.
To view and operate maps:
Click on the buttons to perform the corresponding actions:
- Previous map: Return to the previous map.
- Map Library: Select and jump to a map or map group.
: Filter out a specific item.
: Select items to display in the channel.
- Object search: Find and jump to specific objects on the map.
- Map alerts: Appears and lists their number if there are alerted and disconnected devices. To move to a device's location, click on this panel and select the device.
- Objects: Click an object on the map to open the preview.
- Maps: Select and jump to a map.
- Cameras: View videos and operate the timeline.
- DI/DO: Check the digital input status or trigger digital output.
- Alert cards:
- When multiple alerts occur simultaneously at the same location, the alert cards will be displayed as a stack. Click on the arrow to switch between alerts.
- Click
to view a list of the maps in the group. Maps with alerts will be marked red. You can click on a map to jump to it.
- Alert cards will disappear 5 seconds after the alert ends.
- Alert tracking: Disable, enable, or resume alert tracking.
- Alert tracking is enabled by default.
- Alert tracking will pause during manual operations. If no further manual action is taken, the tracking will resume after 30 seconds.
- Select tool: Frame an area on the map to add the included devices to the layout.
- Home View: Go to the Home View.
- Expand/Collapse: Show or hide more buttons.
- Zoom in/Zoom out: Zoom in or zoom out the map.
- Views: Set up Home and Favorite Views.
- Object names: Show or hide object names.
To edit maps:
Maps can only be edited in the Maps application. Click at the upper-right corner of the channel and click Edit map. See this article for detailed operations.
