Configuring Synology Chat
You can customize Synology Chat settings to your preference.
Access Synology packages
You can access MailPlus, Office, or Calendar directly from Chat by clicking on the App Launcher icon, which is only available if you have permission to those packages.
Mute notifications
The mute settings will apply to all clients, including mobile apps and web browsers.
To set up a snooze schedule:
- Click the Mute notifications icon >Snooze schedule > Settings > Enable snooze schedule.
- Set a Start time and End time. Notifications will be muted during this period every day.
To temporarily mute your notifications:
- Click the Mute notifications icon >Mute for.
- Select the desired duration.
Personalize your Chat
Click the profile icon >Settings to personalize your Synology Chat.
To edit your profile:
In Profile, you can edit the following details:
- Nickname
- Description
- Language
- Time zone
To adjust notification settings:
In General > Notifications, you can edit the following settings:
- Preview message content in desktop notifications
- Turn off mobile notifications when using the web version
- Turn off all notification sounds
- Enable browser push notifications by installing the extension
- Manage devices paired with Synology Chat: Receive push notifications on paired devices.
To enable Calendar integration:
In General > Calendar Integration you can enable Synology Calendar integration. This allows Synology Calendar to add events directly to your calendar.
To customize display settings:
In General, you can customize the following settings:
- Time Format: Select the desired Date format and Time format.
- Display Name: Select Username or Nickname.
- Sidebar Preferences: Select or deselect Group unread messages at the top.
To customize themes:
In Themes, you can choose your desired theme and wallpaper.
Change your status
You can update your status to let others know when you're available to chat:
- Click the profile icon.
- Select Set yourself to away or Set yourself to active.
