Creating Events
This section will show you how to create events in selected calendars.
To create an event:
- In the main calendar window, click the date you would like to add the event.
- Enter an event title and select the calendar you would like to add the event to.
- To edit your event's details, you can click Edit details or double click the event title.
- Click Create event to add your event to the calendar.
Note:
- All new events will be added to My Calendar by default unless specified otherwise.
- Creating an event without editing its time details will be classified as an all day event by default.
To create an event with more details:
There are two ways to add more details to an event:
- Go to the CALENDAR list, click the dropdown icon and select Create Event.
- In the main calendar window, click the date you would like to add the event and click Edit details.
Here are the various details that you can add to your event:
- Event Title: Name your event.
- Start Time/End Time: Choose a start and end time for your event.
- Time Zone: Choose the time zone where the event occurs.
- All day event: Choose if you want your event to be all day or not.
- Repeat event: Edit the repeat settings of your event including the type and time intervals.
- Event Details: Add various details to your event, such as location, description and alerts.
- Attachment: Files can be uploaded from computer or Synology NAS.
- Locations can be edited based on Google or Baidu map. Go to the Profile icon > Settings > General tab to switch the map source.
- Event color: Choose an event color to highlight a specific event and the event color will be shown in all calendar viewing modes.
- Description: Add event descriptions.
- Guestlist: Invite other members to your event.
- Enter the email address of the member you would like to invite and click the plus icon to add them to the list.
- The member's response will appear along with their status.
- To remove a member from the list, click the cross icon next to their name.
- Send invitations to your guests by email or notify them via the Synology Chat's bot (before you can do so, Chat needs to be installed on the same Synology product).
Note:
- The default event duration is one hour.
- If All day event is enabled, time duration will be disabled.
- The maximum number of alerts is five.
- The maximum number of repeat events is 512.
- Notifications to a single repeat event will create an independent event where editing the repeat rule and calendar is not allowed.
- Updating an original repeated event will apply to its independent events.
- The deleted attachments cannot be recovered.
- Administrators can click the Admin Settings icon in the left sidebar to set the maximum file size per event or maximum size per file.
