Entire System Backup

Hyper Backup allows you to back up your entire Synology NAS, including system configurations, packages, and user data, to remote Synology NAS devices or C2 Storage with the subscription of Advanced Plan.

Note:

  • Entire system backup is only supported on specific models.
  • Hyper Backup Vault must be installed on the remote Synology NAS to store the backup data.
  • The backup data of the entire system can only be restored on the same model or its successor.
  • Entire system backup is supported on specific models only. To check if your model supports this feature, refer to the Product Specifications in Download Center > your model > Documents tab.

Back up to a remote Synology NAS

  1. Click + on the upper left corner and select Entire System.
  2. Select Remote NAS device and click Next.
  3. Enter the server name or IP address of the NAS where you want to store your backup data and sign in the admin account. Specify which shared folder to store the backup of the entire system and a directory that will be created (e.g., DiskStation_1). Click Next when done.
  4. Apply the backup and rotation settings according to your needs.
  5. Click Done to start the backup.

Back up to C2 Storage

  1. Click + on the upper left corner and select Entire System.
  2. Select C2 Storage and sign in. Make sure you have C2 Storage Advanced Plan subscription before launching the backup task.
  3. A directory will be created once you sign in. Click Next.
  4. Apply the backup and rotation settings according to your needs.
  5. Click Done to start the backup.
