Synology Chat Server

Synology Chat Server, an instant messaging service on Synology NAS, provides users with an efficient tool for communication and information management. Synology Chat offers entertaining features such as hashtags and reactions, and also many other features like custom integration with incoming and outgoing webhooks.

You can do either of the following to launch Synology Chat.

To launch Synology Chat in DSM:

This method requires you to access Synology Chat via DSM.

  1. Sign in to DSM.
  2. Go to Main Menu > Synology Chat.

To launch Synology Chat directly in web browser:

This method allows you to directly access and run Synology Chat in independent browser tabs or windows; however, you must first set up a customized alias or port.

  1. Sign in to DSM and go to Control Panel > Login Portal > Web Services.
  2. Right-click on Chat and select Edit.
  3. In the pop-up window, enable and specify a customized alias or port.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Once the settings are saved, you can access Synology Chat by entering a URL in the following format:
    http://your_synology_server_ip_address/chat/
