WPS
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is a standard promoted by the Wi-Fi Alliance to simplify wireless security settings for users. Two connection methods, the hardware push button or PIN codes, are available for clients to use.
Enable WPS
- Go to Wi-Fi Connect > Wi-Fi Settings > WPS, and tick Enable WPS.
- Click Edit, then select a Wi-Fi name (SSID) that clients will connect to via WPS.
- Click Apply to save the settings.
Connect to Wi-Fi via WPS
You can use one of the following methods to connect a client to the assigned Wi-Fi name (SSID).
To connect using the hardware push button:
Do either of the following:
- Press the WPS button on your Synology Router.
- Under the WPS tab, expand the By push button section and click WPS.
To connect using the AP PIN code:
- Under the WPS tab, expand the Device PIN section.
- Click the Enable button under By AP PIN code. A PIN code will be generated.
- Enter the PIN code in your wireless device.
Note: You can regenerate the PIN code by clicking the refresh button.
To connect using the Client PIN code:
- Under the WPS tab, expand the Device PIN section.
- Enter your wireless device’s PIN code in the field under By client PIN code.
- Click Register.
