Getting Started
Welcome to Synology Chat. This section will go over and summarize its layout and provide a general overview of its user interface.
The user interface contains three different sections:
- Top global bar: Includes package logo, search box and profile picture.
- Left sidebar: Includes three sections which include Starred, Channels and Conversations.
- Starred: Channels and conversations that you have starred will appear in this list.
- Channels: A channel is intended for a group of people gathering together with a similar goal. There is no member limit for a channel.
- Conversations: A conversation is a private message system where you can chat with one person or a small group of people. A conversation has a nine member limit (including the creator).
- Bots: A bot is an integration feature that can send and receive messages to you through a one-on-one conversation.
- Main window: Contains messages and the options to go to the Bulletin and My Collections sections.
Note:
- A starred channel or conversation will be moved to the Starred section automatically.
- You can hide any channel or conversation by clicking the Hide icon next to it.
