Backup and Restoration

With Hyper Backup, you can back up Synology Photos to local or remote destinations and restore its settings and data to any previous time.

To back up Synology Photos:

  1. Go to DSM > Package Center and install Hyper Backup 3.0.0 or above.
  2. Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to create a backup task.
  3. Follow the wizard and select Synology Photos for back up.
  4. The following data will be backed up once the task is successfully created:
    • All the photos, videos, created albums, and folders.
    • The recognition results in the People, Subjects, and Places albums.
    • Synology Photos package settings and share link settings.

To restore Synology Photos:

Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to restore the desired backup tasks. The current settings and data of Synology Photos will be overwritten once the task is successfully restored.

Note:

  • Please refer to this article for more information on Hyper Backup tasks.
  • The volume of the restore destination cannot be smaller than that of the source.
  • The personal profile of a deleted user cannot be restored.
