Synology MailPlus and third-party client users can check/edit their personal auto-forwarding and auto-reply policies here.

Note:

  • To allow client users access to the settings, the administrator must assign to them the Allow privilege over Synology MailPlus Server at DSM > Control Panel > Privileges.

To set up auto-forwarding:

You can have the system auto-forward your received emails to an email address for backup.

  1. Go to Personal.
  2. Select Enable auto-forwarding.
  3. In the Forward mail to field, specify an email address to forward an email to.
  4. To keep a mail copy in the inbox after forwarding, select Keep mail copy in the Inbox. When this option is not selected, a forwarded email will be deleted from the inbox.

To set up auto-reply:

You can set up personal auto-replies so that the system will automatically reply to people emailing you during your absence.

  1. Go to Personal.
  2. Select Enable auto-reply.
  3. Specify the following conditions to send out auto-replies:
    • Time range: Specify the beginning and end dates to send auto-replies.
    • Subject: Specify the subject line for auto-replies. The variable $SUBJECT will be replaced with the subject of received emails in auto-replies.
    • Message: Create the message content using the template. The variable $FROM will be replaced with the sender's account name in auto-replies.
  4. Click OK.

To set up conditional auto-replies:

You can set up conditional auto-replies that will be triggered based on sender addresses/domains.

  1. Go to Personal and click Advanced Settings.
  2. Specify the following settings:
    • Mail from: Specify a sender address/domain that will trigger this conditional auto-reply.
    • Specify the Subject and Message to suit your needs.
  3. Click OK.
