Information

In the Information tab, you can modify the device information of your camera.

To configure the camera information:

  1. In the Camera address field, enter the camera's IP address or hostname. You can also click magnifying glass button to find cameras in the same subnet.
  2. In the Port field, enter the camera's network port. If your camera supports HTTPS connection, you can select HTTPS from the drop-down menu. Surveillance Station will only use secured connection to access your camera.
  3. Under Video encryption, you can tick Encrypt with SRTP to encrypt the connection if your camera supports SRTP.
  4. Under Brand, follow the instructions in Add Third-Party Camera. For a Synology Camera, select Synology to transfer all existing configurations and recordings.
  5. Under TV standard, select NTSC or PAL.
  6. Under Video channel, select an option.
  7. Under Username and Password, enter the camera's credentials.
  8. Click Load Configurations when Surveillance Station or Device Pack is updated for available features.
  9. Click Test Connection to see if the camera snapshot can be displayed in the preview area.

Note:

  • The settings above will only appear if the camera supports the corresponding functions.
  • Camera name:
    • The camera name is case sensitive and can contain 1 to 64 Unicode characters, excluding the following symbols: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) = + [ { ] } \ | ; : ' " < > / ?
    • The first character cannot be a minus sign (-) or a space; the last character cannot be a space.
  • Source path:
    • The source path is case sensitive and can contain 1 to 256 Unicode characters.
    • The format is "username:password@IP address" or "hostname:port number/source path". If the username and password are empty, ":" and "@" can be skipped.
