MariaDB 5
MariaDB 5 is a community-developed fork of MySQL and is one of the most widely used open-source relational database management system (RDBMS). It is highly compatible with MySQL and allows users to effortlessly migrate databases from MySQL to MariaDB 5. With MariaDB 5, you can easily and efficiently read, update and manage your data.
Reset Settings
You can reset your MariaDB 5 database password or delete databases directly on the user interface.
To reset the password:
Click Reset MariaDB 5 Password. Note that this action will reset the user's root password to an empty one.
To delete databases:
Click Delete Databases. Note that all data and settings of your MariaDB 5 databases will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered after they are deleted.
Modify Volume Settings
If there is more than one volume available on your Synology NAS device, you can specify in which volume you want to create and place the databases.
To change the location of the databases:
From the drop-down menu, choose the volume you want to store the databases. Click Apply for the changes to take effect.
Port Setting
You can modify the port number of MariaDB 5 directly on the user interface.
To set the port number:
Fill in the desired port number. Click Apply for the changes to take effect.
Back up and Restore
You can back up MariaDB 5 and restore it to a previous version via Hyper Backup.
To back up MariaDB 5:
- Go to Hyper Backup > Create > Data backup task to create a backup task.
- Follow the Backup Wizard, and choose MariaDB 5 when you are prompted to select applications to back up.
- After the backup task is complete, all the MariaDB 5 databases will be backed up.
To restore MariaDB 5:
- Go to Hyper Backup > Restore > Data to restore the desired backup task.
- After the restore task is complete, the current settings and data of MariaDB 5 will be overwritten.
Note:
- MariaDB 5 backed up in DSM 5.0 can be restored either in DSM 5.0 or in DSM5.1 with MariaDB 5 5.5.38-0023.
- MariaDB 5 backed up in DSM 5.1 can only be restored in DSM 5.1 with MariaDB 5 5.5.38-0023.
- All the MariaDB 5 databases will be mandatorily backed up or restored.
- The backup and restore functions will fail if the database name contains \ or `.
