Configure Package Center

You can configure Package Center by clicking the Settings button on the top-right corner.

To enable notifications about package updates:

  1. Go to General > Notification.
  2. Tick the Enable email notification checkbox or the Enable desktop notification checkbox, or both. The first option allows DSM to send you emails when new updates are available, while the latter allows DSM to display a notification message at the top-right corner of your DSM desktop.
  3. Click OK.

Note:

  • For email notifications to take effect, please go to DSM Control Panel > Notification to configure your DSM's email notification settings first.

To get beta versions of packages:

  1. Go to General > Beta and tick the Yes, I want to see beta versions checkbox.
  2. Click OK, and the beta versions of packages will be available on the Beta Packages page.

Note:

  • Beta versions allow you to try out brand new features of Synology packages before they are officially released. They are not recommended for commercial use.

To update packages automatically:

  1. Go to the Auto-update tab and tick Update packages automatically.
  2. Select Auto-update all packages, Auto-update to important versions of all packages, or Only packages below according to your needs.
  3. Click OK.

Note:

  • Grayed-out packages do not support auto updates.
  • Important versions are the versions with critical bugs or security vulnerabilities fixed.

To add a package resource provided by third party community:

  1. Go to the Package Sources tab and then click Add.
  2. Enter the Name and Location of your package sources. The location can be a URL you found on the Internet provided by a third party developer/publisher or community.
  3. Click OK.
  4. When the package source is added successfully, you will see it added to the list of packages in Package Center > Community page.
