Viewing Notes

This section shows you a few ways of viewing your notes. The browser panel lists all notes contained within a menu item. You can click on View by to change the way notes are displayed in the browser panel. The two browser viewing modes are card view and snippet view. In card view, you can see a larger preview of each note. In snippet view, each preview is more compact. The browser panel also allows you to sort notes by clicking Sort by. You can sort by Title, Create Time, Modified Time and arrange both Ascending and Descending.

Tags and Favorites are another two useful tools to use when you have many notes. In the menu panel, clicking on any tag or item in Favorites will list all related notes in the browser panel.

You can view notes normally within the note panel of Note Station or in a new browser tab. Viewing a note in a new browser tab will hide the menu and browser panels, giving you more viewing space to focus on editing and viewing notes.

To view notes in a new browser tab:

  1. Open the note you want to view in a new tab.
  2. In the upper-right click Open note in new tab.
  3. Switch to the new tab to continue viewing your note.

Note:

  • When viewing joined notebooks, the browser panel will also appear when opening in a new tab.
  • Any web content clipped by Synology Web Clipper (available via Chrome Web Store) is saved to your Note Station.
  • The default note font size can be set at Settings > Viewing Options.

To present notes in a slide show:

You can present your notes and highlight the points quickly and organizedly in the slide-show mode.

  1. Open a note and click Present (the slide-show icon) on the top right corner.
  2. After you enter the presentation mode, you can do any of the following:
    • To go to the previous/next slide: Use the mouse's scroll wheel or the arrow keys/Space/PageUp/PageDown on the keyboard.
    • To apply a template: Move the pointer to the top right corner, click the cogwheel icon, and select the desired template.
    • To use a colored pointer: Move the pointer to the top right corner and select the desired pointer.
    • To enlarge images on the slide: Simply click the images.
    • To exit the presentation mode: Press Esc on the keyboard or exit via the browser's toolbar.

Note:

To split the content into different slides, insert a Horizontal line between the parts or apply a heading format (available under Text format) to the desired text.
