Why does the preview show "No Access" when "Read/Write" permission has been granted?
Details
You can set file or folder access permission for users or groups. However, the preview may show "No Access" when "Read/Write" or "Read Only" permissions have been granted.
Resolution
When this happens, follow the steps below to check if "No Access" permission has been set.
- Go to Control Panel > Shared Folder.
- Select the folder and click Edit > Permissions.
- Select Local users or Local groups from the drop-down menu, and check if No Access was ticked.
- The permission levels are prioritized as: No Access > Read/Write > Read Only. For example, if the permission setting for the local group is Read Only and the permission setting for a local user who belongs to the same group is No Access, then this user's access permission is set as No Access.
- The results displayed in the Preview column do not take into account the permissions configured in Control Panel > Shared Folder > Edit > Advanced Permissions > Advanced Share Permissions.
