How do I transfer my QuickConnect ID to another Synology device?

Purpose

This article shows you how to transfer your QuickConnect ID to a different Synology device (e.g., NAS, NVR, and Router) by using either the same or different Synology Account.

Resolution

Using the same Synology Account

If you need to access your old Synology device after transferring your QuickConnect, make sure you have another external connection method available, such as DDNS. After transferring, your QuickConnect will no longer be used to access your old Synology device.

  1. On the new device, sign in to the same Synology Account that you used on the previous device.
    • DSM 7.0 and above: Control Panel > Synology Account
    • DSM 6.2 and below: Control Panel > Info Center > Synology Account
    • SRM: Control Panel > System > Synology Account
  2. Enter the previous QuickConnect ID on the new device at the following locations:
    • DSM 7.0 and above: Control Panel > External Access
    • DSM 6.2 and below: Control Panel > QuickConnect
    • SRM: Network Center > Internet > QuickConnect & DDNS
  3. Click Apply and then click Yes in the pop-up window
