Install or Buy Packages

Package Center offers a rich variety of web applications that can expand the functionality of your Synology NAS. With Package Center, you can download, install, and launch packages with a few simple clicks.

The article below explains how to install packages on your Synology NAS using Package Center. For information regarding individual packages, please see here.

To install or buy packages:

  1. Launch Package Center.
  2. Go to the All Packages page to see all available packages.
  3. Find the package you would like to install and click Install. (For paid packages, click Buy or Try to connect to Synology Account, and purchase with credit card or use the trial version for evaluation.)
  4. Once the package is successfully installed, it should appear in the Main Menu.

Note:

  • If you cannot find the package you are searching for, it may require a later version of DSM or is only available on models with specific hardware requirements. Please contact the developer of this package for more information.
  • If you want to install packages on an encrypted volume, refer to this article for more information on encrypted volumes.

Purchasing Packages:

Before purchasing any packages, please see the following notes.

  • Register a Synology Account to access more features, such as prior billing information and purchase history. Information that you share is only used to provide better services in the future.
  • Packages are denominated in US dollars by default. Once you sign in to your Synology Account, the prices will be shown in the currency according to your settings.

Currency Conversion Disclaimer:

  • For transactions that include currency conversion, your credit/debit card issuer may add additional fees that are not reflected in the price displayed. Any purchases could be subject to foreign exchange or cross-border fees by the card issuer. Your card issuer will assess all applied fees, for which Synology cannot provide reimbursement. Please contact your credit/debit card issuer for more information.

To manually install packages:

If you want to install a package by uploading an .spk file (available at Synology's Download Center or third party websites), click Manual Install and follow the wizard to install the new package.

Note:

  • If you want to install packages on an encrypted volume, refer to this article for more information on encrypted volumes.

To search for a package:

Enter a keyword in the search bar on the top-left corner, and press Enter to start searching.

To choose how packages are sorted:

You can change the order of packages to be displayed in Package Center. Click the drop-down menu below the banner, and choose to sort packages by either of the following options:

  • Sort by name: Click to sort packages in alphabetical order.
  • Sort by recent popularity: Click to sort packages by recent install count with the most popular ones in front.

To hide installed packages:

Click the drop-down menu below the banner, and choose Hide installed packages. This will hide packages that have already been installed, and show those that are yet to be installed, upgraded, or repaired.
