Backup and Restoration
With Hyper Backup, you can back up Synology Drive Server to local or remote destinations and restore the settings and data of the package to a previous point of time.
Note:
- As Synology Office files are managed in Synology Drive, instructions on how to back up and restore the Synology Office package are also included in the sections below.

To back up Synology Drive Server and Synology Office:
- Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to create a backup task.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard. When prompted to select applications to be backed up, select Synology Drive Server and Synology Office.
- After the backup task has been successfully created, the following data will be backed up:
- Files and folders
- Permission settings of each file and folder
- Labels
- Stars
To restore Synology Drive Server and Synology Office:
- Go to DSM > Hyper Backup to restore the desired backup task.
- The current settings and data in Synology Drive Server and Synology Office will be overwritten after the restoration is completed.
Note:
- For more information on the above-mentioned operations, please refer to the Help article of Hyper Backup > Data Backup > Create Backup Tasks.
- Synology Office files are stored in the Synology Office database. Therefore, we recommend that you back up/restore Synology Drive Server and Synology Office at the same time. (Synology Office files will not be backed up or restored if you only select the Synology Drive Server package.)
- There must be no fewer volumes in the restore destination than in the source.
- Files created by deleted users can be restored but their personal profiles will not.
- The historical versions of regular (non-Synology Office) files cannot be backed up.
