How do I register for EW201 or EW202?

Purpose

This article demonstrates how to register for EW201 or EW202 for your Synology NAS.

Notes:

  1. EW201 or EW202 must be purchased together with a new applicable device and registered within 30 days after the date of purchase.

Resolution

  1. Make sure the following are ready:
    • A valid Synology NAS product serial number
    • An Extended Warranty license key
    • A Synology Account (Sign up if you don’t have one)
  2. Sign in to your Synology Account.
    Before proceeding with the next step, make sure your Synology NAS has been added to your Synology Account.
  3. From the left side menu, click Devices. On the right of the model you’re registering warranty for, click ··· icon and then click View Details.

  4. Click Licenses > Register.

  5. Select Extended Warranty and then click Next.

  6. Fill in the Extended Warranty License Key, and then click Register.

  7. Review and confirm the Extended Warranty registration information, and click OK to complete the process.
  8. Once the process is complete, the license cannot be transferred to any other Synology product. Please make sure the information is correct.

  9. To view your license expiration date, go to the device’s detail page and click Licenses.

Notes:

  1. The license valid date displayed on your Synology Account is calculated based on the manufacture date of your Synology NAS. The actual warranty period of your Synology NAS starts from the date you purchased the Synology NAS. Please always keep the purchase receipt or invoice. If you cannot present the purchase receipt or invoice when you make a warranty claim, the date of manufacture will be referred to as the starting date of the warranty period.
  2. We do not accept returns of Extended Warranty packs. However, if your Synology NAS malfunctions, the remaining period of the Extended Warranty can be migrated to a new Synology NAS of the exact same model received from the Synology Replacement Service (SRS) or from your warranty claim.
