Threat Monitor
You can view the statistics of email threats and adjust the relevant settings accordingly for optimal security.
Overview
To view general threat analysis:
The general threat analysis provides the statistics of various kinds of inbound/outbound email threats and displays such information in clear graphs.
- Go to Threat Monitor > Overview.
- Under General Threat Analysis, you can find the threat statistics and relevant settings:
- Time range: Select to view the threat statistics over a specific time range.
- Threat list: See the percentage statistics of each threat type. To check the count statistics, hover the mouse over a specific type.
- Threat doughnut chart: See the percentage statistics of each threat type. Select or deselect the threat types on the right list to suit your needs.
- Antispam: Check the antispam engine status. To modify its relevant settings, click to jump to the page.
- Antivirus: Check the antivirus engine status. To modify its relevant settings, click to jump to the page.
- DNSBL Self-check: See if the Synology NAS is listed in DNSBL. Click to view more details.
To view external threat analysis:
The external threat analysis displays the sources of the blocked inbound emails and the corresponding statistics.
- Go to Threat Monitor > Overview.
- Under External Threat Analysis, you can find the threat map and count statistics of each source:
- Threat map: Each circle represents a threat source area. A circle expands when more blocked emails come from that area. To see the count statistics, hover the mouse over the circle.
- Threat source: This list shows the top six sources of the blocked emails.
Inbound and Outbound
On Inbound and Outbound, you can find the statistics of the blocked inbound and outbound emails respectively, along with the top senders/recipients of such emails.
- Time range: Select to view the statistics of the blocked outbound or inbound emails over a specific time range.
- Blocked Mail Statistics: View the trends of each threat type of inbound emails (on Inbound) and outbound emails (on Outbound) over the specified time range.
- To change the threat types in display, select or deselect the legends under the chart.
- To see the count statistics of each threat type, hover the mouse over the chart.
- Top Senders of Blocked Mail: Check the top 10 senders of the blocked inbound emails (on Inbound) and outbound emails (on Outbound). For a complete list, click Show All.
- Top Recipients of Blocked Mail: Check the top 10 recipients of the blocked inbound emails (on Inbound) and outbound emails (on Outbound). For a complete list, click Show All.
