Synology Drive Server

Synology Drive Server is an all-round solution for file management, sharing and synchronization. Once the administrator has enabled Synology Drive Server, users can see Synology Drive as a file portal and access it from web browsers, desktop applications and mobile apps. Also, the administrator can configure sync tasks to other Synology NAS servers via Synology Drive ShareSync.

Before You Start

Please note the following:

• Drive Server is compatible with DSM 6.2.2 or above.
• Supported browsers include Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer 10 or later.
• The following two packages must be installed from Package Center:
  • Universal Search
  • Synology Application Service
• Before syncing files between Synology NAS and your local computers, get the Drive Client utility in either of the following ways:
  • Go to the web version of Drive, and click the Account icon > Client > Download client.
  • Go to Synology Download Center and download the Synology Drive utility.
• Before browsing files in Drive on mobile devices, go to the iOS App Store or Android Play Store to get the Drive app for free.
• Drive Server is compatible with all clients of Cloud Station Server.
• You can install Synology Office from Package Center to utilize online editing and collaboration functions.

For end users to launch Synology Drive, do either of the following:

• In DSM, go to Main Menu > Synology Drive.
• To access Drive directly through a new browser window without logging into DSM, go to Control Panel > Application Portal to configure connection settings and to enable a customized alias or port for Drive. Once your settings are configured, you can type the following web address in the address bar of your browser to open Drive: http://synology_server_ip_address/Drive/
