Users and groups can be imported from Microsoft Active Directory (hereafter "AD") using C2 Identity. You can generate a CSV file from your Microsoft AD using our export tool and then upload it to C2 Identity.

1. In the C2 Identity Admin Portal, go to the User page.
2. Click Add > Import users/groups > From Active Directory.
3. Click Download and move the export tool to your desired location.
4. Launch the export tool. A CSV file will be generated in the same folder as the tool.¹
5. Open the CSV file and check its format:
   • Usernames cannot contain spaces.
   • The attribute "Mail" is required for each imported user.
6. Go back to the C2 Identity Admin Portal and click Browse to upload the CSV file.
7. Tick the following options based on your needs:
   • Overwrite duplicate users and groups: Update the existing users/groups with their duplicates in the CSV file.
   • Assign C2 Identity licenses to imported users: Tick this option to assign C2 Identity licenses to users, so that the users can be assigned to devices and on-prem/cloud services. The number of available licenses depends on your C2 Identity plan.
8. Click Import. The users and groups in the CSV file will be imported to C2 Identity.
